Skateagy Comic and The Skateboarding Dream

The Skateagy Comic and The Skateboarding Dream have some things in common and some things that are different.

In the Skateagy Comic, the main character Ashling goes on an adventure in the Skateagy World with dreams and goals that she wants to be real. There are her friends, her dad, and a few other side characters. Which some of these characters have the same names as in The Skateboarding Dream although some play a slightly different role. There is Diffident and her emotions to deal with along the way.

In The Skateboarding Dream, Ashling goes on a journey to accomplish her dreams and goals. There are similar characters to the Skateagy Comic although her friends are associates/peers that she looks up to in skateboarding. In The Skateboarding Dream there is also the addition of Ashling’s mom, aunt, and cousins. Diffident (the name for the antagonist in the comic that is not named in the book) also plays a different role than in the comic. Diffident is a more of Ashling’s thoughts in The Skateboarding Dream rather than a separate character. Just like in the comic, Ashling still has emotions.

Overall, the Skateagy comic is much more fictional and unrealistic than The Skateboarding Dream. The Skateboarding Dream is more realistic to life. While some scenes are similar in both, The Skateboarding Dream shows family life, school, Ashling’s other interests besides skateboarding and other events that are lifelike. The Skateagy Comic keeps the events in the fictional Skateagy World where skateboarding is the main interest.
