Hope for Me and You was a song that came about while going through a rough patch in life. At that time I had lots of thoughts on hope and I was writing songs often about it. Particularly for this song the thoughts were on changes in life and not all of them being exciting or fun. Most of the thoughts were actually on life being hard and yet still needing and having hope. There were some scenes that popped into my mind along with the lyrics and music. The scenes were of a husband and wife talking about how they were going to make it through the rough patch of life they were going through. It was a whole conversation. So, this one turned out to be another kinda love song and definitely towards the rock genre. After I wrote the song down it sat for a long while before I recorded it.
The audio took a while for the sound to come together. I wanted this song to sound like another rock, love song. It was hard to get all the parts to have right sound and blend with each other. The guitars, drums, vocals, etc. I worked on this song for a while and then stopped. I learned more about audio during that time (as I was still in college) and was able to come back to it with a fresher perspective. Then I was able to finish the song up and get a satisfying sound for what was in my mind.
