Favorite Musical Things

I have a lot of favorite things when it comes to music. I chose to start talking about the three playlists on YouTube and Spotify because those playlists give a general sound of what I’ve wanted my music to be like, my musical roots of what I grew up listening to, and the music I love to listen to.

Guitars and drums have always hooked me into music, I love their sound and the way they work together. So, most songs on the playlists are rock and most are from the 1960’s-1980’s although there are a few newer songs on the playlists too. I’ve known most of these songs for a long time (some I have discovered in more recent years), and there are good memories with the songs on the playlists. The songs I have listened to has partially influenced the instruments I chose to learn. They’ve also influenced my goals for my songs and how I want them to sound. Here is some information about each playlist.

The Role Models playlist features a few artists that I look up to in the industry including The Piano Guys and The National Parks. The Musical Influences and Favorite Songs playlists are probably the most diverse out of the three playlists.

The Musical Influences playlist has artists that I look at for musical style, arrangement, instruments; the technical things for what I want my songs to be like. Also these are artists that I research histories on.

The Favorite Songs playlist is just my all time favorite songs. I have loved most of these songs since I was a kid. They are not songs I’ve recently got into, but songs I’ve always gone to when I feel excited or happy.

These three playlists do not include everything I’ve listened to or do listen to. There is a lot of other music I could talk about because I listen to a lot of it, and I like discovering music I haven’t listened to before. The first playlist I’ll start talking about in the next post is the Role Models playlist since it is the shortest.
